Passport of Hungary
The passport of Hungary is a document that proves that a person has a citizenship of Hungary. If you apply for a residency programme with the aim of getting a citizenship, acquiring a passport is one of your primary aims.
Hungary's passport is considered to be the 29th strongest passport out of 199 passports of the world. The holders of the passport can enter 123 countries with no visa requirements and in 41 jursidictions they would receive a visa on arrival. In 34 countries, the holder of the passport would still need a visa. This makes the passport of Hungary (and, by default, Hungary's citizenship) stronger than 85% of the world's citizenships.
Depending on its type, the passport is valid for 5 or 10 years. There is also an electronic, machine-readable version of the document. The passport issuing authority of Hungary is Registration Office (Nyilvántartó Hivatal). The passport of the current format is rather old. It has been in use for 12 years, since 1 March 2012.
