The Finland's government issues the following types of residence permits:
- Permanent residence permit in the form of a card bearing the letter P, locally also known as:

- Continuous residence permit in the form of a card bearing the letter A, locally also known as:
- Jatkuva oleskelulupa
- Temporary residence permit in the form of a card bearing the letter B, locally also known as:
- Tilapäinen oleskelulupa
