Residence permit document in Slovakia
The residence permit of Slovakia is a document that allows it holder to legally reside in Slovakia. Depending on its type and the reason, upon which it has been issued, it may also allow or prohibit other activities, such as conducting business.
Residence permit types
The Slovakia's government issues the following types of residence permits:
- Residence permit in the form of a sticker affixed to the travel document of the third country national, locally also known as:

- Temporary residence permit without specifying the purpose of stay in the entry 'type of stay', locally also known as:
- Povolenie na prechodný pobyt bez uvedenia účelu pobytu v položke 'druh pobytu'
- Temporary residence permit specifying the purpose of stay in the entry 'type of stay', locally also known as:
- Povolenie na prechodný pobyt s uvedením účelu pobytu v položke 'druh pobytu'
- Permanent residence permit without specifying the purpose of stay in the entry 'type of stay', locally also known as:
- Povolenie na pobyt bez uvedenia účelu pobytu v položke 'druh pobytu'
- Permanent residence permit specifying the purpose of stay in the entry 'type of stay' , locally also known as:
- Povolenie na pobyt s uvedením účelu pobytu v položke 'druh pobytu'
