Immigration program

The Croatia Residence Investor Program gives investing immigrants the opportunity to acquire permanent residence in Croatia.

Investment requirements for Croatia Residence Investor Program

There are no minimum investment requirements to obtain temporary or permanent residence in the Republic of Croatia. However, they are required to provide proof of sufficient financial resources to live in Croatia without becoming a liability or a burden to the social care system of Croatia, as well as provide adequate health insurance.

Once they have met these conditions, foreigners can apply for residence permits. They must first apply for a temporary stay permit. Foreigners from the European Union must apply for a certificate of temporary stay that is valid for up to 5 years. Those not part of the European Union must apply for a temporary work and stay permit that is valid for up to one year. Application for permanent residence can only be done after one has stayed legally for a period of 5 years. This period is considered uninterrupted when one-time absences do not go past 6 months over the course of five years, or when multiple absences do not go past ten months over the course of five years.

Country overview

Croatia has a Mediterranean coastline that means there are vibrant sunsets and attractive coastal climate. The soils are rich and fertile. The cost of living largely depends on the specific location. Transportation is cheap and has a low crime rate. It provides universal health coverage to its people and its coastal climate makes it an ideal spot for recreational activities. However, the weather can become unbearable with extremely high temperatures. Some areas have a low number of inhabitants making some necessary services slow to arrive. The healthcare system is strained and there are a lot of procedures and bureaucratic red tape that may make conducting business difficult.
