Sweden has a beautiful blend of lakes, islands, woods, and mountains. This Scandinavian country has a lot to offer tourists. If you intend to visit Sweden on a tourist visa, you must be aware of the visa requirements.

Officially known as Konungariket Sverige, it is one of two kingdoms on the Scandinavian Peninsula, the other being Norway.

While the country shares land boundaries with Finland (to the east) and Norway (to the west and north), a bridge-tunnel connects it to Denmark (to the southwest).

Germany, Poland, Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania all have sea boundaries with the country.

The capital and largest city are Stockholm. Swedish is the country’s official language. English is commonly understood.

Despite being a member of the European Union (EU), Sweden has yet to accept the Euro as legal tender. Its monetary unit is the krona (plural “kronor”), with the currency designation SEK.

It is a technologically advanced country with a robust communications system and infrastructure, despite its tiny population and enormous land area.
