According to Romanian immigration law, non-European Union citizens, like Pakistanis who want to stay in the country for longer than 90 days straight must apply for a residence visa. Additionally, it is necessary if you want to work or engage in business operations. A simple visa is needed if you plan to remain in Romania for fewer than 90 days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania oversees immigration issues.
Romania visas
Visas for Romania fall into four primary categories:
The Romania Airport Transit (A Type)
This gives the bearer access to a Romanian airport’s international terminal while they wait for a connecting aircraft to another location.
The Romania transit (B Type)
This permits the holder to travel through Romania for up to 5 days while en route to another nation.
The Romania short stay (C Type)
This entitles the bearer to a maximum of 90 days of residence within six months. It is mainly granted for the following circumstances: tourism, personal visits, business, engaging in sports, attending events of a cultural, scientific, or academic nature, participating in official government missions, and travel
The Romania long stay (D Type)
This permits entry into Romania and the request for a residence permit. As a result, it can only be used for a maximum of 90 days; but, if you are granted a residence permit, you can remain in the nation for an extended period for a variety of reasons, including job, education, or family reunion. If you enter Romania with this type, you are not eligible to apply for a residence permit.
Application process
You must begin an online application for it before submitting a physical application at a Romanian diplomatic mission or consulate. The procedure for obtaining it is as follows:
Start the online application
Start your online application at the ministry of foreign affairs website. You must have access to a computer that can run the application tool and Adobe Reader or another form of PDF reader to complete this step of the application process. You must submit electronic copies of your required documents together with your answers to various questions throughout the online application procedure. The online application tool only accepts attachments in the following file types: jpeg, jpg, tif, png, bmp, txt, rtf, or pdf. They must be in either English or Romanian, with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
Submit the required paperwork to the Romanian embassy or consulate
You need several supporting documents while applying. When you visit the Romanian consulate, you must have the originals of all the documents you uploaded online. The Romanian consular services examine your application, let you know the results, and let you know if any more documents are required. When you travel to Romania, be sure to bring copies of the relevant documentation, as the immigration agents may need to view these before deciding whether to grant you admission.
Make an appointment for Romania and show up
Once your application has been approved online, the Romanian consular services will schedule a meeting with you so that you can submit your visa application in person and have your original documents verified. You must pay the processing fee for the Romanian visa at the appointment.
Wait for processing
To find out how your application is doing, visit the online application service. The Romanian consular personnel will also let you know when you can return to the consulate to find out how your visa is proceeding. If your application is accepted, it will be stamped in your passport, allowing you to visit Romania. The processing period could take up to 10 working days or longer. Depending on the circumstances, it may take some time to process. As a result, the Romanian immigration authorities advise that you apply no earlier than three months and no later than two weeks before you expect to go. A long-stay application should be submitted at least 45 days before the intended departure date.
Romania visa fees
You must also pay a non-refundable processing fee for a Romanian visa when you submit your application at the Romanian consulate or diplomatic mission. The following are the costs of obtaining a visa to Romania:
