Before arriving in France, Afghan nationals traveling to France must get a Schengen visa.

Immigration services

French immigration services are under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

France’s severe immigration laws may make it challenging to get a residency card. French law clearly distinguishes between a simple “visa” and a long stay or a residence permit, which are both referred to as “stay documents.” Any person requesting a stay document must have a lengthy stay visa or entry permit. To proceed, the applicant must submit an application and all necessary supporting documentation to a French consular office and be permitted to travel to France.

If you’re a non-EU citizen staying in France for more than three months, you need a temporary residence permit, skills, and talents residence card, resident card, or retired residence permit. Therefore, a long-term visa or entry permit granted by the French government is required for anyone entering France to stay for longer than 90 days and intend to work or study there. A visa is necessary for brief trips for up to 90 days.

Lawful immigration

Immigrants must adhere to all rules outlined in French law to legally visit France. The Code of Entry and Stay of Foreigners and Asylum in France is the primary statute that governs the immigration of non-EU nationals into France. Various choices are available based on why you are there.

However, to successfully apply for a visa, you must submit to the very specific Consulate, responsible for your country of residence. The Foreign French Consulate is in charge of receiving, hearing visa applications, and issuing approvals.
