Brasov

Brasov is famous in all of Europe for its preserved medieval old towns. Located near the Carpathian Mountains, the city was founded in the 13th century by Teutonic Knights. Over the years, Brasov has become wealthy from trading, taking advantage of its location between Western Europe and the east. The influences of both regions are obvious in the gothic, renaissance, and baroque architectures of the city. Famous places for tourists to visit include the biggest gothic church in Romania known as the Black Church, Brasov Council Square, and the defensive bastions, towers, and gates built to guard the city years ago.
